There are always going to be Japan-only exclusives and ways to get around that Japanese exclusivity. The very thorough and thoughtful FudeFan posts an updated how-to-buy that will help Platinum (and Pilot, and Sailor, and more!) enthusiasts navigate proxies, package services, and options like WorldShopping. But those options are not always easy, and some of these pens sell out within minutes (like NBC Nonble, Hachimonjiya, etc.). When you want to ensure your order, US customers may want to use an Instagram reseller. These overseas shoppers will secure your pen as a pre-order. Some will even hunt down older pens on the resale market in Japan. But do note, you will be paying more than the Japanese retail price, plus any shipping and tariff costs, as you are also paying for their time and connections to secure stock.
Pensachi and JP-Select are good online options if you miss a presale alert from one of the Instagram resellers. JP-Select also takes requests via Instagram DMs.
JaPenPH will actually take requests and search shops, pen shows, and resellers in Japan for your desired pen. While this option is the most expensive, it is very useful if you are hunting down a grail pen.
