Platinum x Hachimonjiya “Hatsuyuki / First Snow”
Description
In 2023, Hachimonjiya released its first collaboration with Platinum to create the Platinum x Hachimonjiya 3776 Century “First Snow.” First Snow features a white lamé body with subtle sparkle and pale pink finials. The 14k nib and trim are rose gold plated. The nib displays an etching of the constellation Orion.

Platinum x Hachimonjiya “Akizakura / Autumn Cherry Blossoms”
In 2024, Hachimonjiya released its second collaboration with Platinum to create the Platinum x Hachimonjiya 3776 Century Akizakura “Autumn Cherry Blossoms”. Akizakura features a pink translucent body with subtle sparkle and pale pink finials. The cap is translucent turquoise. The 14k nib and trim are rose gold plated. The nib displays an etching of a butterfly, the “nectar sipper” of cherry blossoms.

Platinum x Hachimonjiya “Ayame / Iris”
Another Hachimonjiya and Platinum collaboration, in coordination with the LIFE Noble Note matching collection. Inspired by the Japanese iris, the translucent body shifts from pink to purple in the light. The nib features an engraving of an umbrella, and the 14k nib and trim are rose/pink gold. It was available in EF/F/M/C.

Platinum x Hachimonjiya x mizutama “Ebi Fry Chan”
Illustrator mizutama teams up with Hachimonjiya to offer this very limited collaboration. Featuring a matte yellow body, peachy pink cap, and white section, the sandblasted finish evokes the texture of fried shrimp. Continuing the theme, the nib sports an etched kawaii shrimp, which is echoed on the converter. This collaboration is available in 14k gold nibs sizes UEF, EF, F, and M. Because of the extremely limited but popular nature of this product, a lottery was held in July 2026.

Rarity and Availability
Shop collaborations with Japanese brands/stores are hard to access outside of Japan. Both JP-Select and Izumi Pen will often purchase rare shop collaborations and resell them, but expect to pay at least $100 more than the original list price. Recent additions to the Japanese pen reseller world are sakura.pens, shiba_fountain.pen, and goodpenlife on Instagram. Most will offer preorders on limited releases for a markup. A cheaper option is a proxy service like White Rabbit. Alternatively, set up a mail-forwarding service like Blackship to purchase and send the pen to a Japanese address. Blackship is probably your best option if speed is critical (for editions that sell out quickly). Set up your Hachimonjiya account in advance with your Blackship address to check out quickly. Note that Hachimonjiya limits their exclusive Platinum pen designs to Japanese addresses only.
The first release of First Snow sold out in four minutes, as did Akizakura. Though their pens are limited, Hachimonjiya regularly restocks their fountain pen collaborations (notably their Sailor collabs), so joining their mailing list can prepare you for sale times. By joining the Platinum 3776 Collectors Facebook Group, there is an opportunity to contact purchasers or post a “want to buy” request. One may also post “want to buy” requests on r/Pen_Swap.
