*Note: 2014 did not see the release of a Fuji Five Lakes edition. This may be because the Nice demonstrators came out that year.

Yamanaka (2015)

PNB-20000Y. The Yamanaka was the fourth in the Fuji Five Lakes series. Lake Yamanaka, located near Mount Fuji, is the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes with an altitude of 1,000 meters. Surrounded by gently sloping mountains, the sunbathed lake is illuminated with light. The fountain pen evokes the image of a ripple of the brilliant lake on the transparent barrel. 3776pcs.

Kawaguchi (2016)

The Kawaguchi is the fifth and final pen in the Platinum Fuji Five Lakes series. The “dawn blue” of the body evokes the gradation of colors at the dawn, when the sky is covered with the darkest blue. The contrast between the mirror-like surface and the quiet streams that ripples with breeze has been reproduced in the barrel using a technique to apply convex and concave patterns. 2500pcs.

Rarity and Availability

The Oshino is still in production. The Yamanaka and Kawaguchi are the most expensive pens in this series on the resale market, because of their sought-after barrel etchings. Expect to pay around $400 for each of these. The Shoji and Sai appear regularly on eBay for $250, though you can find them cheaper on used markets like Peyton Street Pens or PenRealm, as well as r/Pen_Swap. Motosu, because there are only 2011pcs, is very difficult to find. I have had an eBay alert for two years with only one hit (too expensive: $700!).
