Platinum x The Shop Channel Shine Pink

Limited to 196pcs, the Platinum x The Shop Channel “Shine Pink” (or Pink Shine) is nearly identical to the North American Carnelian. It sold out within minutes, but can be rarely found on the resale market.

The Shop Channel is just that: a shopping tv channel in Japan. My information comes only from the eBay listing and conversations I’ve had about this pen on Instagram.

Description

The pink in the “Shine Pink” is a magenta the shade of Pilot Iroshizuku’s Tsutsuji ink with tiny sparkles. The trim is rose gold plated. The clip on my model is already starting to darken and tarnish, which you can see in the photo.

Rarity and Availability

Shop collaborations with Japanese brands/stores are hard to access outside of Japan. Both JP-Select and Izumi Pen will often purchase rare shop collaborations and resell them, but expect to pay at least $100 more than the original list price. A cheaper option is a proxy service like White Rabbit. Alternatively, set up a mail-forwarding service like Blackship to purchase and send the pen to a Japanese address.

By joining the Platinum 3776 Collectors Facebook Group, there is an opportunity to contact purchasers or post a “want to buy” request. This pen rarely shows up on eBay, but with a saved search, pop-up notifications, and patience, you can add this pen to your #3776 collection.

Because the “Shine Pink” is so similar in bad lighting to the Carnelian, double check with the seller to confirm it is the “Shine Pink.” You can expect to pay at least $350 for this edition.
